The HPA Vision and Mission

The Holistic Pediatric Association (HPA) is a national educational membership organization that unites health professionals and parents in the common goal of transforming children's health care. Our focus is on improving and enhancing children's mental, emotional and physical health and vitality by:

  1. Educating and supporting health professionals in the philosophy of holistic health and the use of safe, effective holistic modalities and treatments for children.
  2. Educating and supporting parents in holistic approaches to caring for their children's health and well-being and in making informed health decisions on behalf of their children.
  3. Developing standards for a holistic model of health care for children.

Legal Entity

The HPA is incorporated in the State of California as a 501(c) (3) public charity. Contributions are tax-deductible.

Vision

The HPA aspires to influence and support a major transformation in the current practice of pediatrics into a safe, nurturing, and sensible holistic health care system for children.

We envision a transformation in parenting in which parents care for their children holistically to optimize their health, growth and development and in which parents are empowered to make informed choices on behalf of their children.

Mission

Ultimately, the HPA exists so that children can be exceptionally healthy and vibrant with strong minds and exuberant energy and vitality. We cultivate this by serving the health professionals and parents who care for them.

The HPA provides training, networking, and mentoring for health care professionals in holistic medical models that promote an understanding of physical, mental, emotional, nutritional, and environmental well-being as essential ingredients in creating healthy, vibrant, and resilient children.

Through our seminars and conferences, we teach a practical approach to pediatric care that focuses on the principles of health, wellness, and the safe resolution of illness. We provide networking, peer support, and exposure opportunities to pediatric health professionals through our health professional directory, member forums and conferences.

The HPA develops standards of care for children that integrate many innovative, supportive, and healing philosophies into a coherent, holistic model of child health and medical care. We are positioning ourselves as the authoritative, reliable voice for holistic pediatrics in the U.S.

Additionally, the HPA provides education and support to parents, helping them to:

  • Reduce the use of ineffective and harmful drug treatments, processed, devitalized foods, and exposure to toxic chemicals.
  • Understand the natural development and unfolding of their children's delicate physiological systems and to take steps to build healthy bodies, minds, and emotional well-being in their children.
  • Learn about methods that naturally stimulate healing, recover balance, and support the body's own resilience.
  • Empower themselves with dependable information and valuable resources to make informed decisions to protect and nurture their children's health and development.

The HPA respects and honors the holistic science of Oriental medicine, conventional medicine, homeopathy, herbal medicine, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, and a wide range of other complementary therapies for children. Membership is open to all licensed and unlicensed health care providers with an interest in children's health. Health care professionals-in-training and students may also become members. Health professional membership is available at a reasonable cost, and our parent education and support is provided at no charge.
